YOU JUST RECEIVED YOUR WINGS IN THE MAIL....they are amazing, but they come with these huge, thick, ugly black sticks.... or tiny wooden dowls that break right away. 

Over the years, I have experimented with many types of rods in my wings, and my plastic rods are by far the best.  They are just the right thickness, so you can hold them delicately between your fingers.  They are just flexible enough, to allow a bit of give when you flutter them, but durable enough to hold up to wear and tear (unless you slam them in the car door).  They are clear, so they go with any color and fabric. ....and if you want to shorten them,  just cut a groove with a serrated knife and snap the end off.
